U.S. federal lawmakers press Condoleezza Rice to investigate Venezuela's ties to Iran

Key U.S. federal lawmakers Wednesday pressed U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to investigate Venezuela's ties to Iran, particularly a $1 billion oil venture, and whether the South American country could be declared a state sponsor of terror. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said a proposed 50-50 joint oil venture between Petroleos de Venezuela SA, or PdVSA, and Petropars, a unit of the National Iranian Oil Co., could violate U.S. Iran Sanctions Law, particularly as the the Venezuelan company owns the Citgo retail subsidiary, which sells petroleum products through nearly 14,000 outlets across the U.S.

  1. This is why there is going to be war everywhere -- and Venezuela and the world Left must prepare for it: because the decadent and dysfunctional U.S. political system simply cannot stop crypto-fascist politicos like Ros-Lehtinen -- let alone the entire neocon Bush Gang -- from whipping up crises and confrontation at every turn.

Someone should have put a muzzle on this rabid dog a long time ago. It's simply amazing how Miami cuban terrorists get to cast aspersions -- and misdirect an entire country about their very own state terrorism -- every day of the week.
