The real War in Colombia: Media Tycoons fight for Radioelectric Spectrum

VHeadline.com Spanish Edition Chief Jesus Nery Barrios writes: A real class war between media tycoons from the USA, Spain, Mexico and Venezuela to obtain a TV broadcasting license is being carried out currently in Colombia, on the sidelines of diplomatic frictions between neighboring countries and old skirmishes between armies and rebel groups, in which huge fortunes are at play, along with the space by which these noble representatives of the ruling classes can keep spreading their ideas about "peace", "democracy", "justice", "free trade" and "freedom", by their corporate media of mind control.

Never mind the political ups and downs, anyone or anything cannot stop the forward march of the big corporations to impose the Orwellian "newspeak" worldwide, the large scale publishing of their media lies, their discredit campaigns, in a nutshell, their globalized braindrain. Today it is Colombia, tomorrow it will be the rest of Latin America and the world, until the mainstream media of education and mind control remain in the hands of few elite, rich and myopic families.

Here we show a little inset showing the true faces that currently rule and will rule Colombia, Latin America and the rest of the world:

Left to right: Gustavo Cisneros, Cuban-Venezuelan, President of the Cisneros Group; Remigio Angel Gonzalez y Gonzalez, Mexican, president of Repretel; Jeffrey Immelt, American, president of General Electric, owner of MSNBC, which also owns Colombian RTI and US spanish-language TV channel Telemundo; Jose Manuel Bosch, Spaniard, president of the Spanish Grupo Planeta, owner of the publishing company El Tiempo de Bogota; Ignacio Polanco Moreno, Spaniard, president of Grupo Prisa; and Emilio Azcarraga Jean, Mexican, president of Televisa.

The above mentioned corporations are contesting each other for two broadcasting licenses to operate private TV channels in Colombia, where it can be seen that the "Colombian" business groups involved are owned by foreigners.

Anyhow, the ideas, projects, needs and dreams that will be broadcast by those new channels will not be those from millions of impoverished Colombians but those from alien, manipulating and exploiting elites.
