Kenneth T. Tellis: Venezuela will win against Exxon-Mobil

VHeadline commentarist Kenneth T. Tellis writes: If the Bush regime continues to support Exxon-Mobil in its false claims against the PVDSA of Venezuela, and exacerbate the problem, then Venezuela should take a new tack by stopping all imports coming from the U.S., Britain and the European Union. But Venezuela's allies should also join the fray, by boycotting their products as well, just as the U.S., Britain and the E.U. have done by the freezing of PVDSA funds.

In order to bring about the downfall of the Exxon-Mobil plan many other areas of trade have to be reached.

At present the Bush regime and Exxon-Mobil are in bed, so to speak and it might be a good idea to weaken them further by continual boycotts of their products, by importing from countries that have no issue with Venezuela.

If Venezuela treats this as a economic war, it might win in the long run ... but Exxon-Mobil will come out the lozer at the end of it all.

  1. That's too precipitous, Tellis. What you're advocating is tantamount to all-out economic warfare. Which leads directly to the real thing.

What the venezuelan government is doing right now is just fine: moving with all due deliberation, in a dirty little chess game. There's time enough for the game to get rougher, if need be.
