Kenneth T. Tellis: U.S. President George W. Bush's recognition of Kosovo independence

VHeadline.com commentarist Kenneth T. Tellis writes: Since U.S. President George W. Bush has recognition of the illegal independence of Kosovo, nations of the world can now recognize the Puerto Rican Independence movement and indeed recognize Puerto Rican INDEPENDENCE from the U.S. as valid.

But, it opens a new door, in which the nations of the world can recognize any STATE in the UNION (USA), which declares its independence as a separate country or nation.

But they should go even further in recognizing Normandie, Brittany, Corsica and the Basque regions which have long been occupied by France as INDEPENDENT NATIONS.

  • The above could now be applied to Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

Any country that recognizes Kosovo now is open to the very same standards that it has it. By having its own territory being open to question, and allowing for the partition of Spain and the independence of Catalonia and Basques lands in the Pyrenees.

Perhaps, now is the hour when Catalans can demand their right to nationhood immediately.

It would seem that the U.S. plan to break up countries in Latin America, including Venezuela has backfired, and can now be used against the U.S. itself.

After all what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, is it not?

  1. But of course these rules only apply to other people. Not the Important People.

    Privilege has its advantages.
