Jewish Agency envoy to Venezuela charged over fake conversions

A Jewish Agency Aliyah envoy to South America has been arrested on suspicion of providing immigration papers to 200 Venezuelan citizens whom he knew had undergone fraudulent conversions to Judaism. The Ramle Magistrate's Court extended the remand yesterday of Ilan Architecter, 66, a veteran Jewish Agency employee who had run the absorption center in Ra'anana for many years. The Immigration Police said the suspect - who was arrested in Israel on Tuesday - had confessed to the allegations, saying he knew the rabbi who converted the Venezuelans was suspect. Most of the Venezuelans were of indigenous descent, who were convinced to convert with promises of the benefits they would receive if they immigrated to Israel.

  1. Of course, this article provides one more opportunity to spin the unscrupulous lie that Hugo Chávez is "anti-semitic" -- and a threat to all jews within his reach. That bizarre angle probably comes from a purposeful misrepresentation of his government's warm relations with Iran: not that there aren't irani jews who can't be bothered to emigrate to Israel, for instance -- putting paid to that lie; and also likely because of his vocal objections -- and political moves -- protesting daily zionist terrorism against the palestinians.

All in all, this is just another of those low blows directed by zionists, at the behest of imperialism, against anyone who dares defy them in any way. But all this piece demonstrates, AFAIC, is that corruption can be expected to flow from official government policies based on lies, duplicity and state criminality.
