VHeadline commentarist Kenneth T. Tellis writes: The news today that Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz President of Cuba resigned was cause for celebration in the U.S. What exactly are people in the U.S. celebrating? They assume too much not in evidence, that the U.S. can get back into Cuba an exploit it as before. But as usual the U.S. news media has got it all wrong. There can be no going back to the corrupt days when the U.S. under their puppet Fulgencio Batista ran the show for them.
The Cuban of today, much like Venezuelans, the Nicaraguans, the Bolivians and other Latin Americans are an educated people.
This is not those days in the past that Latin Americans were serfs in their own lands, exploited by U.S. Corporations, and made to live in conditions far worse than in third world countries. Just think even Exxon-Mobil thinks that it can rule the roost in Venezuela by having the funds of the PVDSA frozen by the U.S. and E.U. governments, because they control those countries. But, the reality is otherwise. Cubans are far more educated than the people of the U.S., and one thing is sure. That no Cuban wants to live in the squalor like conditions that was their lot, in the days when the U.S. called Cuba a FREE and DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY, which it was not in the least.
The people in the U.S. are more brainwashed than those of the Soviet Union of yesteryear. In fact the daily dose of propaganda served out by news papers, radio and TV, has addled their brains. Which makes them more like trined SEALS than Human Beings. It's about time that the American people face reality and take their country back from the Corporations which now rule them in entirely. These people in the U.S. act more like Zombies and do not even know how they are being exploited. So what's to be done about them? Even the elections in the U.S. are controlled by Corporations, which are the behind the scenes unelected rulers of the U.S.
The people of Cuba do not need or want this system the U.S. calls democracy, but it is really a far cry from democracy, and there can be no question that the whole system of government in the U.S. is a complete sham.
Right now the people of the U.S. are sleep-walking to their own destruction and are not even aware of it.

In order to defeat the Left in North America, the U.S. oligarchy had to essentially destroy democracy in the U.S. -- and they even got away with replacing it with an obscene simulacrum for a while: what we witness today as "the world's greatest Democracy" (with a capital 'D' no less). So fact is AFAIC: only utter disaster -- total defeat in a major war, vicious economic deathspiral, mass deprivation, chipped nailpolish, etc. -- will break this system into pieces, before the working-class will again wake up as a mass, to its interests.
ReplyDeleteA shame -- but that's the way it's going down. Because the north american Left has utterly failed in its historic task these past 60+ years. However, there is no alternative to socialism as the alternative. Capitalism is the death of the Earth and all Humanity if we do not put this vicious, soulless, out-of-control feedback system out of business.
