Daniel Ervin Davis, 55, was tracked to Venezuela, where he was arrested and returned to the United States

Daniel Ervin Davis, 55, Las Vegas, pleaded guilty to a charge of distribution of a controlled substance. The maximum penalty is 10 years in prison and a $500,000 fine. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Davis was originally charged in 8th Circuit Court in 1994 with offenses related to distribution of methamphetamine and marijuana. After posting bond, he fled and had been a fugitive since then. In 2007, Davis was tracked to Venezuela, where he was arrested and returned to the United States. According to the news release, as part of the plea agreement, Davis admitted to violating parole for federal tax charges and failing to appear for the state drug charges. Davis is in custody pending sentencing Aug. 27.
