We have clearly pointed out that we were quoting intelligence sources which by their very nature must remain confidential.
This does NOT, however, deflect from the seriousness of the situation or in any way impinge upon the credibility of those sources, proven to us at VHeadline over a space of many years. Quite simply it is up to the reader to decide whether or not s/he wishes to take advisement from the news we deliver or whether or not s/he choose to stick his/her head in the sand, perhaps hoping that the "situation" would simply go away.
It is our responsibility as professional journalists to evaluate information garnered from a number of independent sources and to decide if we should give the information due credibility to relay to our readers around the world. To do otherwise would be a betrayal of our purpose as e-publishers of indepent news & views on Venezuela.
We faced a similar dilemma early in April 2002 when we broke what was then labelled a "world exclusive" revealing the preliminaries of what was only days later to become solid news in the form of an illegal takeover of the Venezuelan government by dictator-for-a-day Pedro Carmona Estanga. The aftermath of that event has been exhaustively charted in a plethora of articles available on the internet and in fact Venezuela's Radio Union News Network reported at the time that Bolivarian Professional & Technical Workers (FTPTB) Gerardo Ramirez had turned in evidence to Attorney General Isaias Rodriguez which supported VHeadline.com's February 8 (2002) World Exclusive report in which we quoted highly-placed diplomatic and IC sources as telling us of a Washington-initiated plot to assassinate democratically-elected President Hugo Chavez Frias.
We had told our readers: "Spanish-speaking US military operatives are already present in Venezuela lending logistic support to several anti-government terror cells in what's described as 'a fail-safe plan' to dislodge Chavez Frias and to win US control over strategic oil supplies."
The FTPTB investigation group was also accusing former Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) president General Guaicaipuro Lameda of a series of acts of corruption during his term in office and suggested that PDVSA archives should be placed under military custody since there was a distinct possibility that evidence would be shredded or burned. Ramirez said "we already have substantial evidence after an audit which indicates a series of irregularities, embezzlement and misfeasance of public monies."
Nevertheless, fast-forwarding to the present: Time-proven and credible VHeadline intelligence sources yesterday revealed that persistent 'chatter' monitored by intelligence services (Venezuela's DIM among others) claim that an "internal" coup d'etat is under preparation seeking to remove President Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias from office "within the next days" or by the end of June at the very latest.
Similarly credible (but confidential) sources also informed us that security specialists are reporting that the coup plot is seen as "necessary" by elements within the Chavez administration to defuse the threat of military invasion of all or part of Venezuela by United States forces in their relentless quest to secure oil supplies to North America.
We do not claim to be the eye of God; we report events as and when they happen.
We also report credible news that has to do with the future of grassroots Venezuelans and their promise of a very much better future. We publish commentaries and opinions from as many different sides of the wonderful panorama that is Venezuela and we do it out of an intrinsic love for Venezuela and its wonderful people.
Everything else is up to YOU the reader to decide!
You can take on board what we report as a serious threat to the security of the duly-elected President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela or you can dismiss it out of hand as ill-willed or disinformed speculation.
WE at VHeadline have evaluated the news as being of great importance to our readers and that is all that matters.
Quite naturally we hope and trust that by ventilating the news to a broader, international public, the plotters will take heed and abandon their criminal intent.
It was also our hope when we published our world exclusive on February 8, 2002.
What more can we say?
sincerely
Roy S. Carson

Venezuela is facing the most difficult period of its history with honest reporters crippled by sectarianism on top of rampant corruption within the administration and beyond, aided and abetted by criminal forces in the US and Spanish governments which cannot accept the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people to decide over their own future.

With the oil prices at $4.33 everyone here in the US of A is feeling the deep economic decline.
ReplyDeletePeople are now taking the trains like never before, and stores are closing down in record numbers.
Don't let anyone fool you, people here are getting restless. The one's suffering is the middle to bottom class. Many in their early to mid 50's and now need to add a second job to meet ends meet.
Venezuela and President Chavez where looked by at one time by the many millions of poor and the middle class as an example to follow. As a role model that will stir up a revolution here as well.
But all that has being shatttered in just a few months. Chavez lack of understanding of how evil integrates and manipulates, plus his undesire to listen to the people have destroyed faith not just in Venezuela, but to millions in the US and the world.
Chavez and his clan at Citgo are at it again, paying the 'Man' millions to promote Citgo new promotional plan for the 'american sucker' to buy into.
This last thing shows why the revolution that never was, died before it really took off. For the
Bolivarian Rovolution was doomed from the start, has Chavez and his gang traded salvage capitalism for "State Capitalism", which at the end has always ended un with the same result. Corruption, descrimination, a new elite of wealthy criminals and the neo-cons that suck the blood out of the humble and the people.
But hey, at this point Chavez dosen't give a hut, has long has his still in power right?
