The USA's supposed "War on Drugs" in the Andean region...

VHeadline commentarist Oscar Heck writes: This is precisely what I was talking about in regard to the anti-FARC marches held in Colombia, Caracas and other cities. The marches were organized, according to Colombia's ambassador to Venezuela in Caracas, by Colombian NGOs ... in other words, in my words, the marches were organized by pro-USA and/or US-financed mid-to-upper class Colombian movements masquerading as "good guys," promoting the US agenda (the FARC are labeled "terrorists" by the USA) and supporting the violence promoted by Colombia's president Alavaro Uribe, who recently said something to the effect that he would go after "the criminals" (the FARC) and they will never again reign ... insinuating military action.

Since the inception of Plan Colombia (2001 ... oh ...what a coincidence?), the USA's supposed "War on drugs" in the Andean region, Uribe can definitely count on US Blackwater and other murderers to assist them in massacring the "terrorists" ... and a bunch of "worthless" innocent Colombian children, old men and women in the process.

Even some of the high-profile family members of some of the people who are being held hostage by the FARC are in disagreement with the anti-FARC marches, considering them an Uribe-concocted plan with a political agenda to make him, his government and other criminals like the AUC (the pro-government wealthy land-owners' paramilitary forces), look like the good guys.

Astrid Betancourt, Ingrid Betancourt's sister (Ingrid has been held hostage by the FARC since 2002), said that Uribe is responsible for stirring up the rage and anger of the Colombian people without proposing any solution and is promoting military intervention instead of dialog. She also said that those who marched in different cities of the world do not march in the name of the families of the hostages ... that it is a ploy by the Uribe government to promote the idea that those who don't agree with the marchers are anti-patriotic, are against the Colombian government and are supportive of the FARC "terrorists."

Carolina Pérez, daughter of Luis Eladio Pérez Bonilla, kidnapped in 2001 also criticized the marches held in Colombia ... "We repudiate the use of indiscriminate force and terror as a fighting mechanism, but we want to march constructively, to open spaces for dialog and not to (malign) the FARC. The message is for all to march against war and against kidnapping used as a form of violence against a human being."

So ... for readers out there ... before believing the US government and the Colombian government regarding the FARC, consider the fact that some (and probably most) family members of long-kidnapped Colombians are not in favor of the methods which the Colombian government foresees using against the FARC and is not in agreement with its political maneuvering.

Who knows best?

The violence-seeking and USA-financed Colombian government or the family members of those who are being held hostage?
