Total to get 834 mln usd in compensation over project with Venezuela's Sincor

Venezuela has agreed to pay Total compensation in the form of oil worth 834 mln usd in exchange for the French company's lowering its stake in the Sincor consortium for the benefit of Venezuela's state oil firm PDVSA, a Total spokesperson told Agence France-Presse.
Last June, Total agreed to lower its stake in Sincor to 30.323 pct from 47 pct as part of the plan to turn Sincor into a mixed public/private company.
PDVSA now holds 60 pct of Sincor and Statoil owns 9.677 pct.
